| Application | Glycyrrhizin (glycyrrhizinic acid) is an active component isolated from the roots of the liquorice. Alps provides 6 kinds of the derivatives: glycyrrhizinc acid, mono-ammonium, di- and mono-potassium salts, the aglycone moiety (glycyrrhezinic acid), and its stearyl ester (stearyl glycyrrhezinate). Glycyrrhizin and its salts are used not only as APIs (mainly anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and liver protection agents) but also as additives for pharmaceuticals, foods, and cosmetics. Glycyrrhezinic acid is used in the dermatology area as an anti-inflammatory API. Stearyl glycyrrhezinate is widely used as an additive for cosmetics. |
